Joining Atlantic Bay in 1999, he has helped over 1,000 clients finance their homes through VA, Jumbo, Conventional, 203K, and Fannie May Rehab loans.
Recently transitioning from vice president and branch manager to senior mortgage banker, John Baldwin has had years of structuring deals and helping people finance loans. Friendly and knowledgable, he thinks like his customers and has their best interest at heart, from the meet-and-greet to the follow-up and all the steps in between.
John says, “The first thing I do is ask clients what they are looking for — and then I listen. If you listen effectively, clients will tell you exactly what you need to do to earn their business.” John’s listening skills and ability to build strong relationships allow him to dig deep into the discussion to identify the clients’ needs and advise them. He says, “ I tell my clients, ‘Here’s where I see this going, based on your credit report and what you have told me you want to do.’ I try to give them an idea of what’s going to come so they know the next step and what to expect going forward.”

Rusty entered the mortgage industry in 2003 when he was just 21 years old. Working as part of a very successful team, he’s earned the respect of both clients and referral partners. “I really love my job and care about what I do. The true benefit is seeing people obtain that house and meeting their goals,” says Rusty, who joined Atlantic Bay in 2009.
“The first time I meet somebody, I introduce myself, give my background and ask for a little bit of theirs,” says Rusty. Cautioning that buying a house can be stressful, he tells homebuyers that there are going to be times where they’ll need to respond quickly. “I’m here to work for you, but I also need you to work with me. We can do this together. I’m on your team.” Rusty says.
Rusty is always available when customers need him. “I work around my borrowers’ schedules. We just need to talk about it and set it up,” he says. Licensed in Virginia, he helps families in all stages of life and especially loves working with first time home buyers.
